In Words & Wine events, guests mingle with the author while sipping award-winning wines from Ste. Michelle Wine Estates and enjoying savory nibbles prepared by Seastar Restaurant & Raw Bar. For the highlight of the evening, the engaging Warren Etheredge, of The Warren Report, leads an intimate and entertaining on-stage interview and conversation with the author.

A copy of the book, signed for you by the author after the interview, is included in the $50 ticket cost, in addition to all wines and appetizers.

Michael Lewis is the most entertaining chronicler of our modern times. He was a top bond trader at Salomon Bros before he left to become a writer. Liar’s Poker, his account of life on Wall Street, is one of the defining books of the ’80s.

Lewis has gone on to tackle topics from Silicon Valley (The New, New Thing and Next) to baseball (Moneyball), to fatherhood (HomeGame). His book about football, The Blind Side, was recently adapted into an academy award nominated film.

His new book, The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine, is a character-rich and humorous study of how the U.S. economy was driven over the cliff, with a cast of real-life characters that includes villains, a few heroes and a lot of people who look very, very foolish.

The historic Sorrento Hotel will host our event, and the evening begins with appetizers and wine at 6 p.m. with onstage interview at 7. The Chateau St. Michelle will be providing our featured wines for the evening, and all wines, appetizers and a copy of The Big Short are included in the $50 per/person ticket price.

Words & WineTickets for the events listed are $50 per person, which includes all wines, appetizers and a copy of the featured book. Reservations are required, and can be purchased here on our website by clicking on each Brown Paper Tickets link.
