Truth is: I ain’t got game. Hate to admit it, but when I dunk my greatest concern is whether the cookie will crumble in the milk. (That’s wack… and not in a good way.) I’m sure LeBron James has folks who sift his milk for him, but that’s because the man can… dunk. He’s been able to do so since he was a boy. MORE THAN A DREAM chronicles his rise to stardom along with the divergent trajectories of his four friends who, together with LeBron, comprised their own high school “Fab Five.”
Of course, there was no guarantee they’d all make the pros, but I can guarantee that ten of you will win MORE THAN A DREAM prize packages that include:
* Run-of-engagement passes good for two to see MORE THAN A DREAM
* a MORE THAN A DREAM t-shirt
* a LeBron James headband
* a MORE THAN A DREAM soundtrack
* a MORE THAN A DREAM mini-poster
To win these exclusive prize packages, all you have to do is remit your answer to the following compound question by Friday, October 16th at 10am:
Who is the greatest athlete of all time… and why?
Winners will be determined by the wisdom and whimsy with which they are presented. To enter, just take your answer to the post (this one) or e-mail me at warren@thewarrenreport.com
And now, a little more about the movie…
Five talented young basketball players from Akron, Ohio star in this remarkable true-life coming of age story about uncommon friendship in the face all too common adversities. Coached by a charismatic but inexperienced player’s father, and led by future NBA superstar LeBron James, the “Fab Five’s” improbable seven-year journey leads them from a decrepit inner-city gym to the doorstep of a national high school championship. Along the way, the close-knit team is repeatedly tested-both on and off the court-as James’ exploding worldwide celebrity threatens to destroy everything they’ve set out to achieve together. MORE THAN A GAME combines a series of unforgettable one-on-one interviews with rare news footage, never-before-seen home videos and personal family photographs to bring this heart-warming and wholly American story to life.
MORE THAN A GAME is written by Kristopher Belman & Brad Hogan and directed by Kristopher Belman. The film features LeBron James, Sian Cotton, Dru Joyce III, Willie McGee, Romeo Travis and Coach Dru Joyce II.
A Lionsgate film, 102 minutes, rated PG

The greatest athlete of all time is Michael Jordan. Besides the championship in college & the 6 championships in the NBA, Jordan changed the way an entire sport was viewed & played. His athletic ability was unmatched on the basketball court both offensively & defensively. It wasn’t just the dunks, that everyone to this day still tries to mimic. It wasn’t just the fact that the Detroit Piston’s Bad Boys had to initiate the Jordan Rules just to stop him. It wasn’t just the one game in the finals, in the altitude of Utah, where he appeared to be on his death bed, yet still willed his team to victory. It’s not just the fact that since his retirement, the league has been waiting for the next air apparent. It’s the combination of all these things. It’s not just a coincidence that LeBron James wears #23

Thanks for the entry, Wes. MJ is a solid choice. Think LeBron has any chance of making us forget the other #23? ; )
Please send your mailing address to me at warren@thewarrenreport.com in case you are one of our winners.

Call me old fashioned &/or send one my way at a bar, but Bron has no chance of making us forget the original #23. He still has a lot of growing up to do after his poor sportsmanship antics in the playoffs & at his camp in the offseason. He certainly is a great player in his own right with his immense phyiscal abilities. But MJ laid the groundwork for him & he still has to catch Kobe first;o)
Address has been sent. Thanks Warren & hope to see you at the movies soon!

Greatest athlete of all time: Seabiscuit. Knobby kneed, undersized, half of one of sporting’s greatest rivalries, shattered all kinds of records, beloved by Depression-era fans who saw in him a tale of redemption against overwhelming odds. The iconic mix of athlete as fairy-tale legend! Plus, hung like a…

MORE THAN A GAME- Bigger than life. The Babe, The Great Bambino, Babe Ruth was and still is admired, revered and a Legend that will always be associated with the game of baseball. His ability to play the game was surpasses by the bigger than life character he was and always will be. He was adored by almost every young child of his era who ever picked up a bat and he rarely if ever disappointed those around him. He signed baseballs for hours on end and had brought fame and success to the city of New York after doing the same in Boston. He hit more home runs in a years than an entire team. He also established pitching records that still stand today. Although his greatest achievement of 60 home runs was eclipsed, his name and legend never will be.

I heard the Bambino was juicin’, but I accept your nomination, David. ; )

He was juicin’ on hot dawgs and beer………I can’t imagine what sort of records he would have established had he ‘taken care’ of himself.
