(Reserve your seat for LANGUAGE FOR FILM by purchasing a ticket via PayPal or send a check or money order to The Warren Report. Details follow.)

warrenIf you want to visit France, it’s best to learn French. If you want to be a retail analyst, you’ve got to talk shop. And if you’re gonna talk smack with Dr. Doolittle, best brush up on your Marsupialese: the vet curses in fluent kangaroo. Can’t you?

So why is it so many folks who love movies or want to make them, possess only the most rudimentary vocabulary for critiquing and constructing Film?

LANGUAGE FOR FILM, is a 1-day intensive during which we’ll examine the six major components of production — screenwriting, directing, shooting, acting, editing and composing — by reviewing clips to dissect the intricacies and artistry of each of these professions. After seven hours, you’ll fully understand the principles of film theory and the challenges of filmmaking. Most importantly, as the class title implies, you’ll have the vocabulary to best express your impressions of others’ efforts and your own grand visions.

Register now for this special session of LANGUAGE FOR FILM on September 19th, 2009. In honor of my own birthday, I am offering a significant discount. Yup, you can attend the entire seven-hour seminar for only $100 (a savings of fifty dollars!). Reserve your seat on-line via PayPal or send a check or money order — made payable to The Warren Report — to: 1752 NW Market St #118, Seattle, WA 98107. Seating is limited, so act now.
