Let’s get ready to rumble: Plants versus Zombies!?!

Zombies: Can’t live with them, they can’t live without your brains. At times it seems the shuffling undead are as prominent as Gorbachev‘s coffee stain. They wander through movies more frequently than Michael Caine and in the literary world, they now battle Jane Austen atop best-seller lists. Sometimes they are entertaining — SHAUN OF THE DEAD — sometimes they are terrifying — 28 DAYS LATER. (Though frankly, not nearly as scary as Alan Tudyk‘s campy cokehead in 28 DAYS.) So, if you can’t beat ‘em… start gardening!?!

Huh? Well, in PopCap‘s madcap new game, PLANTS VS. ZOMBIES guess who — er, what — protects you from the living Dom DeLuises? That’s right, anything and everything from your windowbox to your vegetable patch. Flower Power, man! It’s like a morally uprooted hybrid of THE DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS and DAWN OF THE DEAD with a heavy sprinkling of grin-worthy puns.

I don’t normally recommend video games, but PLANTS VS. ZOMBIES is the bloomin’ best!
