For smarter audiences… VALKYRIE

Adolf Hitler should have watched Glengarry Glen Ross. Instead, he wound up in a bunker with Eva Braun, no “exit strategy” and, presumably, a brand-new set of steak knives.

Maybe that’s why so many good Germans wanted to kill him. Hitler never learned Alec Baldwin’s rudimentary rule of A.B.C. — Always. Be. Closing. Instead, he was opening battlefronts like some Neo-Con on a daiquiri-fueled wargame at some think tank’s Bahamanian retreat. Baldwin’s smarmy shark also preached A.I.D.A.

Attention:

Sadly, those well-intentioned Germans were no more successful pulling off an assassination than Keanu Reeves would be playingEinstein with a Scottish accent. Yet despite the fact we know the futility of the attempted hit/s, VALKYRIE works in much the same way Titanic did; it’s fun to go along for the ride especially if you needn’t get wet or gunned down in the end.

Interest:

VALKYRIE’s Oscar®-winning screenwriter Chris McQuarrie The Usual SuspectsThe Way of the Gun) has crafted a sharp, solid script that plays like old Hollywood standards — populist fare with unobtrusive, though obvious, smarts.

The Warren Report hosted a preview of VALKYRIE a few weeks ago and afterwards, I invited Mr. McQuarrie to tell us more about thetrue story and those details that didn’t make the screen. He regaled the audience for forty-five minutes about the contributions of his co-writer, Nathan Alexander, his unUSUAL collaborator, director Bryan Singer, and his savvy co-conspirator, producer/starTom Cruise. It was an amazing conversation highlighted by Chris’ incredible historical accuracy, his uncommon industry candor and his sincere appreciation of movie-goers’ intelligence.

Decision:

If you missed my talk with Chris McQuarrie, you can listen to it now for FREE..

Action:

… by downloading The Warren Report’s FREE podcast via iTunes orvia Libsyn.

Get out there. Close the deal. Listen to the McQuarrie podcast and let me know what you think. Then, I’ll give you those golden Glengarry leads.

Always closing,
Warren
